This place is under relatively new ownership amd they have taken this chippy up levels. Fish was amazing, lovely crisp batter on the cod and really good peas and chips. Huge portion size too. Now my go to chippy. If youve not tried it recently get yourself there.

Tried Thompsons Chippy a couple of days ago and I especially enjoyed the pudding chips and gravy. The chips were the best I've had in a long time. My wife had the fish, which was equally as good, with nice, thin, crispy batter.

Really lovely fish and chips. It's really friendly, has some good offers on mid week sometimes, been a few times now. Parking can be awkward as it is near a busy junction. But when something is nice, you find a way round. 😘

Lovely chippy, fish cooked fresh, nice chips. Two sorts of curry sauce English and Chinese, both are really good. Me and my husband really enjoyed it. Good service and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Visited this chippy after a few years and understood it was under new management. I was very pleased with the fast and friendly service that was provided. The food was fresh and cooked well. The staff couldn’t have been any friendlier. I will definitely be returning back here more regularly now.

Always known this as a lovely place I remember I was about 14 years old (roughly around 2010) one day after school me and my friends went to the chippy they could see my friends had chips and not me, they called me over and gave me a free cone of chips. this is a memory that will always stick with me even at 27 years old, I hope my kids can grow up in a world where people like these guys exist
